Endoscopy Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Endoscopy Registered Nurse to join our team. This position involves providing high-quality patient care in the endoscopy suite, assisting with a variety of procedures and supporting pre-operative and post-operative care.

Shift Details

• Shift: Days
• Length: 10-hour shifts, typically starting at 6:30 AM
• Schedule: Monday to Friday with occasional on-call requirements for weekends and holidays

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Endoscopy RN
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
• Must pass an ECG competency exam on Day 1 (pass/fail, one attempt)
• Strong intravenous (IV) skills are required
• Ability to float to pre-operative areas on days without GI cases or when overstaffed

On-Call Requirements

• Weekday call begins at the end of the scheduled shift and runs until 7:00 AM
• Typical weekday call commitment: approximately 3-4 times per week
• Weekend and holiday call: 24-hour blocks (7:00 AM – 7:00 AM)
• Typical weekend commitment: approximately 4 weekends per 6-week rotation
• Comfort with on-call duties is essential

Unit Details

• EMR systems used: EPIC and Provation
• Typical caseload: 10-20 procedures per day (75% outpatient, 25% inpatient)
• Unit also supports Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) 3 times per week
• Team members assist with pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative phases during ECT
• Maroon scrubs are provided on the unit

Shift Expectations

The typical work schedule for shifts is from 6:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
