Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)

Job Description

An opportunity is available for an Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) to provide exceptional care during night shifts. This position requires a commitment to the highest standards of patient care within a dynamic emergency department setting.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in the emergency department.
• Participate in the assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Manage patient flow and prioritize care based on medical necessity.
• Document patient care activities and outcomes accurately in the electronic health record.

Qualifications

• Current nursing license in a compact state or valid state license.
• BLS and ACLS certification from AHA required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an emergency department setting.
• Successful completion of at least one travel assignment preferred.

Emergency Department Overview

The emergency department experiences approximately 33,000 visits per year and features a range of specialized care areas, including:

• 21-bed main emergency room
• 6-bed Minor Care (Fast Track) area
• Minor Emergency Care Unit (MECU)
• Triage, critical care, and trauma care facilities

Shift Details

This position primarily involves 12-hour night shifts, with the flexibility to work 36 or 48 hours per week based on the department’s needs.

Additional Information

Candidates who have worked previously with the organization must have been separated for at least 6 months to be considered for this role. All required documentation must be submitted by the Wednesday prior to the start date.
