Medical/Surgical Tele Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Medical/Surgical Tele Registered Nurse to provide patient care in various units, including potential rotation to designated areas as required. This role is essential in delivering high-quality nursing services and ensuring the well-being of patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate and comprehensive care to patients in the Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit.
• Utilize clinical skills to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Monitor patients’ conditions, perform ECG rhythm interpretations, and respond to changes in status.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care effectively.
• Educate patients and their families regarding health management and hospital procedures.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and interventions.
• Participate in departmental activities and adhere to hospital protocols and safety standards.

Shift Information

This position requires rotating shifts, with options for night and day shifts:

• Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM

Flexibility in scheduling may be required to meet the operational needs of the organization.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 12 months of permanent experience in Medical/Surgical Tele or a related specialty.
• Valid Ohio nursing license or compact state license in hand.
• Current AHA or American Red Cross certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
• Ability to work at least every other holiday.
• Completion of ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments during orientation, with acceptable scores required.

Additional Information

This role may involve floating to other units that care for similar patient populations, including designated internal medicine and emergency departments. Candidates should exhibit strong clinical judgment and the ability to adapt to dynamic healthcare environments.
