Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

This position entails working in a Float Pool as a Telemetry Registered Nurse. The nurse will be required to float between multiple units, providing care in various Med/Surg Tele areas within the facility.

Unit Overview

• Unit Name: Float Pool RN
• Experience Required: 2 years of experience in an acute care hospital and 2 years of experience as a traveling nurse.
• Patient Population: Care for emergency department border patients, serve as a medication nurse in the acute mental health unit, and care for non-vented patients ready for transfer from the ICU.

Role Responsibilities

• Cardiac monitoring, including reading telemetry strips every four hours.
• Administration of cardiac drips and monitoring patient responses.
• Maintaining a clinician-to-patient ratio of up to 5:1 during the day and evening shifts, and up to 6:1 during night shifts.

Requirements

• Certifications: Active Registered Nurse license in Massachusetts, AHA BLS, ACLS.
• Skills: Proficiency in telemetry monitoring and the ability to interpret telemetry strips.
• EMR: Familiarity with EPIC charting system.

Schedule

This role includes rotating shifts, requiring availability for days, evenings, and nights, with weekend rotation as needed. Candidates must be willing to float to eight different units.
