Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Telemetry

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Cardiac Telemetry. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in cardiac nursing and demonstrate the ability to manage patients with various cardiac conditions effectively.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage patients with cardiac conditions in a telemetry setting.
• Perform dysrhythmia interpretation and management, including post-myocardial infarction (MI) care.
• Administer and manage cardiac drips, including titration when necessary.
• Conduct sheath removal and manage external CPAP/BIPAP as well as non-invasive airway interventions.
• Provide care for patients post-cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology procedures.
• Maintain patient safety and comfort during potentially invasive procedures.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience on a cardiac floor required.
• Traveler experience is required unless the candidate has over 24 months of cardiac nursing experience.
• Local candidates will be accepted.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS are required.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Experience with arterial line management and wound care including the use of wound vacs.
• Charge experience is a plus.

Unit Details

• Patient Ratios: 1:4 for surgical step down and 1:5-6 for lower acuity patients.
• Shifts: Night shifts available, 36 hours per week.
• Weekend Requirement: Flexible commitment of 4 weekends every 4 weeks.
• Orientation: 24 hours of unit orientation provided.

Additional Information

Contract staff may be assigned to work during catastrophic events or disasters and will be included in storm or hurricane teams. Please note that additional requests for time off (RTO) after booking are not permitted, and staff may be required to float to other units as needed.

Special Procedures

• CABG, AVR, MVR, TAVR, Mitral Clip, LAAO (Watchman procedure), VATS, and carotid endarterectomy.
• Vascular surgeries, general thoracic surgery, and management of chest tubes.

Special Equipment

• Arterial lines, Doppler, bladder scanner, EKG, and various cardiac monitoring equipment.
