Registered Nurse / Medical Surgical (Behavioral Health)

The position involves working in a specialized inpatient unit that provides comprehensive care for adult patients with complex medical conditions, behavioral health needs, and substance use disorders. The focus is on assessment, stabilization, and treatment through a multidisciplinary team approach that prioritizes patient safety and recovery-oriented care.

Scheduling Details

• Shift Hours: 3×12, nights, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block
• Holiday Requirement: Must work one holiday per 13-week contract
• Call Off Policy: The facility may call off one shift every two weeks

Charting

Experience with EPIC charting is required.

• Unit Highlights: 12-bed specialized inpatient unit for adult patients
• Staffing Ratios: 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratios
• Multidisciplinary Approach: Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, case managers, and addiction specialists
• Clinical Focus: Evidence-based care that includes recovery-oriented treatment, medication management, and behavioral support
• Floating Requirements: May be required to float within skillset

Qualifications

• Experience: Prior travel experience is required; must demonstrate proficiency in Med/Surg care
• Required Skills:
  • Experience with Rapid Response/Code teams
  • Management of peripheral lines, nasal cannula, and non-invasive airway management
  • Oxygen administration and isolation precautions knowledge
• Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is required
