Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality patient care in a dynamic environment. This position includes the potential to float to designated units and the emergency department to care for a similar patient population. The role offers flexible scheduling options for the winter season.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit, ensuring the highest standards of practice.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, responding promptly to changes in health status.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
• Participate in patient and family education regarding treatments and health management.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities and outcomes.
• Utilize ECG rhythm recognition and safe medication practices to ensure patient safety.

Schedule

This position requires working rotating shifts, which may include:

• Night shifts: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Day shifts: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM

Travellers are expected to work every other holiday.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 12 months of permanent experience in the Med/Surg Tele specialty.
• Current Ohio nursing license or a compact state license.
• American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required.

Orientation

Orientation will include an ECG rhythm recognition assessment and a safeMedicate evaluation. An acceptable score on both assessments is required to proceed in the role.
