Registered Nurse (RN) – MS/Tele (Ortho)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our MS/Tele Orthopedic team. This role is critical in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting the recovery and rehabilitation of patients undergoing orthopedic procedures.

Scheduling and Charting Details

• Shift hours: Night shifts, 4×12-Hour (19:00 – 07:30)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend, totaling 6 weekend shifts
• Requests: All scheduling requests must be submitted and approved at the time of booking.
• Call Off Policy: The facility may call off 1 shift every 2 weeks.
• Accept First-Time Travelers: Yes
• Locals Accepted: Yes, subject to radius rule criteria.
• License Requirements: An active South Carolina or multistate license is required.
• Charting: One year of EPIC experience is required.

Required Certifications

• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS

Clinical Skills Required

• Experience in Orthopedics is mandatory.

Unit Details and Floating Standards

• Patient Ratios: 1:5-6
• Unit Overview: An adult 26-bed orthopedic spine unit specializing in spinal surgeries such as laminectomies, spinal fusions, and discectomies.
• Patient Diagnoses Include: Med/Surg, Tele, cardiac issues, low-risk ACS, TIAs, diabetes, hypertension, COPD, dehydration, chest pain, DVT, and PE.
• Special Procedures: Bedside lumbar puncture, post Cath care, post-surgical care, renal biopsy follow-up, CT Angio, and Heparin drips.
• Floating Policy: Agency staff may need to float to other units as necessary, limited to areas where they are qualified and have documented competencies.
