ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated ICU Registered Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care in a Level III Trauma Center’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU). This role requires a strong clinical background, including proficiency in reading tele strips and managing high-acuity patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for adult patients with critical health conditions.
• Monitor and interpret vital signs and telemetry data.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including attendings and residents, available 24/7 in the ICU.
• Ensure effective communication with patients and their families regarding care plans and changes in conditions.
• Float to medical/surgical units as needed, managing a patient load of up to 5 patients.
• Participate in the development and implementation of individualized patient care plans.
• Adhere to established protocols and best practices within the ICU.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Massachusetts.
• Minimum of 2 years of continuous experience in an adult ICU, preferably a Medical/Surgical ICU.
• Telemetry competency required.
• Current certifications in BLS and ACLS.

Work Schedule

• Available for 36 or 48 hours per week, night shifts required.
• Weekend coverage is required, as designated.
• Shifts may rotate between 7 AM – 7 PM, 11 AM – 11 PM, or 7 PM – 7 AM for day rotators.

Patient Population

The ICU cares for a wide range of adult patients with conditions such as substance abuse/overdose, severe psychiatric conditions, DKA, sepsis, GI bleed, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, renal failure, and cardiogenic shock.
