ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Join our dynamic Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team, which provides critical care to a diverse population of adult patients facing complex medical challenges.

Unit Overview

The ICU is a 20-bed Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit, where healthcare professionals care for patients with a variety of serious conditions, including:

• Substance Abuse/Overdose
• Severe Psychiatric Conditions
• Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA)
• Sepsis
• Gastrointestinal Bleed
• Respiratory Failure
• Cardiac Arrest
• Renal Failure
• Cardiogenic Shock

The facility features 24-hour on-site attending and resident support to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Shift Details

• Positions available: 36 or 48 hours per week
• Rotating shifts: Day shifts may include 7a-7p, 11a-11p, or 7p-7a rotations
• Night shifts do not rotate
• Weekend rotation required

Patient Care Responsibilities

The RN will be expected to manage a patient load with the following ratios:

• 1:1 or 1:2 for high acuity patients in the ICU
• 1:4 or 1:5 when floating to other Medical/Surgical units

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of continuous MICU or Adult ICU experience required
• Ability to read telemetry strips is essential
• Active RN license in Massachusetts
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Willingness to float to Medical/Surgical units as needed

Charting and Documentation

Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) is necessary. The charting system utilized is EPIC.
