Registered Nurse (RN) – OR Scrub/Circulate
Job Description:
This position guarantees 32 hours per week and requires a Registered Nurse with experience in cataract procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Function as a circulating and scrubbing nurse within the surgical team.
- Provide specialized care in various service lines, including general surgery, urology, ophthalmology, podiatry, pain management, and endoscopy procedures.
- Deliver care to adult and geriatric patients in the surgical services department, which consists of two operating rooms and a procedure room.
- Primarily assist with outpatient procedures, with limited inpatient care.
Shift and Call Requirements:
- Four 8-hour shifts per week are expected.
- Weekend call is required at least one weekend per month with a callback time of one hour.
- Weekday call is also required, averaging 2-3 days per week, with a callback time of one hour.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2-5 years of nursing experience is required.
- Cataract experience is mandatory and non-negotiable.
- Experience in both scrubbing and circulating is required; both skill checklists must be included in the application profile.
- Prior experience in a smaller operating room setting is required.
- Experience in Phase I/PACU is necessary.
- Broad surgical experience is required.
- Cerner EMR experience is required.
- Travel nursing experience is preferred.
- A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
Additional Requirements:
- Applicants must have their own vehicle due to the community’s lack of public transportation.
- All requested time off (RTO) must be noted prior to submission.
- Health care providers must work two holiday blocks per year, including but not limited to Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s.
- Orientation time is required and unpaid.
Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA is required.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from AHA is required.
