CT Technologist

We are seeking a motivated and skilled CT Technologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to primarily work in CT and be rotated into X-ray as needed. This position offers a chance to work in a dynamic environment with diverse patient demographics.

Unit Information

• CT Room: 1 CT room, 1 PET CT room (used as backup)
• X-ray Rooms: 3 total (2 General, 1 Fluoro/Pain Clinic)
• Average Daily Census: 25-30 patients

Patient Types and Common Diagnoses

CT

• Patient Types: Emergency Department (ED), Outpatient, Inpatient
• Demographics: Primarily Adults/Geriatrics with some Pediatric patients
• Common Diagnoses: Oncology, general abdominal pain, post-surgical concerns, trauma
• Procedures: Biopsies (training provided), Cardiac CTA (training provided)

X-ray

• Patient Types: Outpatient, Inpatient – ED/ICU/MedSurg, Operating Room
• Demographics: Primarily Adults/Geriatrics with some Pediatric patients
• Common Procedures: Fluoroscopy, C-arm in OR, Ortho & Traumas, ICU, MedSurg, ER

Qualifications

• Minimum Required Experience: 1 year of CT experience
• Training provided for radiologic technology refreshment and new procedures
• Required Licenses and Certifications:
  • BLS
  • ARRT (R)
  • State License in Maine
• Skills:
  • Experience with CTA studies and general radiographic studies
  • IV start skills preferred
  • Biopsy experience preferred; willing to train
  • Experience with OR/C-arm and Fluoroscopy preferred; must be open to training

Department Support

• Team Structure: Lead Tech, Internal Transport, 2 CT Techs on weekdays and evenings, 1 on weekends
• Radiologist Accessibility: On-site 3 days a week; available remotely for consultation

Technology and Equipment

• EMR: Cerner
• PACS: Enterprise Imaging AGFA
• CT Equipment: Siemens X.Cite & GE 16 slice PET CT (backup)
• X-ray Equipment:
  • Siemens and T-Rad machines for General X-ray
  • Cannon Ultimax Hybrid C-arm for Fluoroscopy and Pain Clinic
  • Phillips C-arms in OR
  • Multiple portable units for bedside imaging

Job Details

• Floating: Responsibilities will include floating between CT and X-ray, and potentially to the OR for portables.
• Orientation: 1-1.5 weeks based on comfort level.
• Weekend Rotation: Variable based on needs; on duty as scheduled.
• Holiday Expectations: Rotation with other techs, typically covering 50-75% of holidays.
• Schedule: Managed by department manager in 6-week increments.
