Certified Scrub Technician

Job Description:

The Certified Scrub Technician is responsible for the safe and sterile setup and handling of all surgical instrumentation during scheduled and emergency surgical cases. Duties include gathering all necessary instrumentation and supplies as specified on surgeons’ pick sheets. The individual must be diligent regarding procedures and capable of handling pressure assignments, clerical tasks, and other departmental responsibilities. A strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality and supporting the organization’s mission, vision, and values is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and manage surgical instrumentation for procedures.
• Ensure the setup maintains a sterile environment.
• Gather necessary supplies based on surgeons’ specifications.
• Communicate effectively with medical staff and department personnel.
• Assist in both scheduled and emergency surgical cases.
• Perform clerical tasks as required by the department.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Tech program.
• Possession of a current ORT certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of current experience in the operating room.
• BCLS certification required.
• Strong communication skills with department and hospital personnel, as well as with medical and sales representatives.

Shift Information:

Full-time position, Monday through Thursday with 10-hour shifts. Holiday coverage is required.
