Oregon Registered Occupational Therapist

Position Summary:

The Occupational Therapist evaluates, plans, and provides treatment upon referral from a physician. The role involves treating patients with disabilities, disorders, and injuries to relieve pain and develop, restore, or maintain physical function. Treatment methods may include exercise, massage, heat, cold, air, light, water, electricity, or sound. Collaboration with family members and health team members regarding the patient’s abilities and goals is essential.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science or Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited college or university recognized by the American Physical Therapy Association.
• Must meet the necessary requirements for licensure as a Physical Therapist by the Oregon State Board of Health.
• Current valid Oregon driver’s license required.
• Current CPR certification required.

Experience:

While prior experience is desired, it is not mandatory if all educational and licensure requirements are satisfied.

Job Knowledge:

Must possess in-depth knowledge of therapy procedures, current orthopedic and neurological follow-up procedures, and rehabilitation practices. A positive attitude and strong communication skills are essential for this role. Effective team skills, including interaction, support, and respect, are required.

Skills:

• Ability to learn and apply basic computer skills including locating and opening documents, completing forms, and managing email communications.

Shift Information:

• Monday to Thursday, 40 hours per week.
• Holiday coverage is required.

Minimum Years of Experience:

Less than 1 year.
