Registered Nurse (RN) – Critical Care

Shift Notes

12-hour night shifts with options for 36 or 48 hours per week. Floating to the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) may be required as necessary.

Weekend and Holiday Requirements

Availability to work weekends and holidays as needed.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Critical Care. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. This role requires a strong ability to work collaboratively within a team and to demonstrate critical thinking skills in managing complex patient needs.

Unit Information

• Unit Size: 20 beds
• Patient Ratio: 1:2
• Dress Code: Personal scrubs of any color

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of current experience in Critical Care.
• Willingness to float to PCU as needed.
• Experience with Ventilator management, Intracranial Pressure (ICP) monitoring, and Hemodynamic monitoring.
• Meditech Expanse experience is strongly preferred.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) is preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
• Must possess a valid Massachusetts RN license.
• Must have an active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Must have an active American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification is required.

Additional Requirements

• Perm resident address must be uploaded with the application profile.
• Candidate must possess their own vehicle.
• All requested time off must be included with the application submission.
• Profile must contain work history and a skills checklist current to one year.
• One supervisory signed reference from within the past two years of employment is required.

Orientation and Training

An 8-hour non-billable orientation is required prior to the start of the assignment.
