Scheduling Details

Shift hours consist of three 12-hour shifts from Friday to Sunday, typically starting at 3 PM and ending at 3 AM. Actual shift times may vary by +/- 2 hours based on departmental needs, with one week’s notice provided for any changes.

• On Call Requirement: No on-call duties.
• Requests for Time Off (RTO) must be included with the submission.
• Call-off Policy: Facility allows for one shift cancellation every two weeks.
• Holiday Requirement: Travel staff may be scheduled to work during holidays based on unit needs, including holidays that fall outside of contracted days.
• First-Time Travelers: Not accepted.
• Local Candidates: Not accepted; radius rule criteria apply.

Required Licenses & Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ARRT(R) (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists – Radiography)
• ARRT(CT) (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists – Computed Tomography)
• Pending Licenses Accepted: Virginia state license required; any active state license is acceptable. Virginia will grant emergency authorization to travelers with a license while waiting for their permanent Virginia license to be processed.

Required Clinical Skills

• Preparation and/or administration of contrast media
• Radiation safety

Unit Information

Travelers may be required to float to nearby locations as needed.

The facility is an acute care teaching hospital featuring over 700 licensed beds, designated as a Level I Trauma Center, and recognized as a certified stroke center.
