Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in providing exceptional care to neonates, infants, and pediatric patients. The ideal candidate will have experience in pediatric care, specifically with trach and vent patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care for patients with various diagnoses including prematurity, apnea of prematurity (AOP), retinopathy of prematurity (ROP), bronchopulmonary dysplasia/chronic lung disease (BLD/CLD), congenital cardiac defects, feeding issues, and neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS).
• Monitor patient conditions, administer medications, and perform necessary medical procedures.
• Work collaboratively with healthcare teams to deliver comprehensive care to patients and their families.
• Participate in patient education and discharge planning within the defined patient population.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment while adhering to hospital policies and procedures.

Schedule

• Alternating day and night shifts, 36 hours per week.
• Every other weekend and holiday commitments are required.
• Floating to sister units may be necessary based on care needs.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in pediatric nursing is required; first-time travelers are welcomed.
• Must possess a valid RN state license.
• Current BLS certification is required; CPI and ACLS certifications are preferred.
• Experience with specialized equipment such as trach/vents, PICCs/CL, and TPN/IL is essential.

Patient Care Ratio

The expected nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:3, with the possibility of 1:4 for lower acuity patient groups.

Attire

Scrubs of any color or print are acceptable.
