Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This position involves working in a 25-bed Labor & Delivery unit that also encompasses postpartum and newborn care. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in Labor & Delivery and postpartum nursing.

Unit Description

• 25-Bed Labor & Delivery Unit
• Includes: Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Newborn Care, 2 Operating Rooms, 2 Recovery Rooms, and 2 Antepartum Nursing rooms
• Clinician to Patient Ratio:
  • L&D: 1:2-3 for evaluations, 1:1 for active labor
  • Postpartum: 1:3-4
• Average Daily Census: 15-25 individuals including mothers, babies, and laboring patients

Responsibilities

• Support and assist in labor and delivery processes
• Provide comprehensive postpartum care
• Perform newborn assessments and care
• Circulate in the operating room as required

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse License in Massachusetts
• Certifications required:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – preferred
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) – biannual certification for L&D

Additional Information

This position requires flexibility in working shifts, with a focus on nights and every other weekend. Rotation to evening and day shifts may be required based on unit needs.
