Registered Nurse – First Assist (FA)

Position Overview

This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing as a First Assist, responsible for supporting surgical teams during procedures. The role involves collaborating closely with surgeons and other medical personnel to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons during operative procedures by providing direct support and ensuring a sterile environment.
• Prepare and maintain the operating room, ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are available.
• Monitor patient vitals and respond to changes in condition during surgical procedures.
• Communicate effectively with surgical team members to coordinate patient care.
• Document relevant information and maintain accurate patient records.
• Participate in pre-operative and post-operative patient assessments.
• Educate patients and families regarding surgical procedures and post-operative care.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, with a strong background in surgical settings.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Certification in First Assist is highly preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Schedule

This position will primarily follow a day shift schedule, with flexibility as required by the surgical schedule.

Travel Requirements

Some travel may be required between multiple locations within the region.
