Ultrasound Technologist

Job Summary:

The Ultrasound Technologist operates advanced ultrasound equipment to produce high-frequency sound images for use by physicians in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. This role involves performing various technical procedures that require independent judgment and initiative while ensuring effective communication with patients and their families, as well as maintaining collaborative relationships with interdepartmental staff. The technologist is responsible for designated areas or procedures as needed and must be skilled in breast imaging and DVT examinations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate ultrasound equipment to capture diagnostic images.
• Perform breast imaging and DVT examinations with precision.
• Work collaboratively with patients, families, and medical personnel.
• Utilize clinical judgment and ingenuity in imaging procedures.
• Assume responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited School of Ultrasound.
• Must hold a valid RDMS or ARDMS certification.
• BLS (AHA) Certification required.
• Minimum of one year of relevant ultrasound experience.
• Familiarity with CR and PACS preferred.

Additional Requirements:

• Must have personal transportation due to location in a rural area.
• Updated work history and skills checklist are required.
• Current license and certifications must be maintained.
