Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This position involves providing high-quality care to patients in a dynamic environment where teamwork and adaptability are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive patient care in accordance with established standards and protocols.
• Float as needed to various units within your skillset, including inpatient boarding in the emergency department.
• Participate in unit team meetings and training sessions, which may occur outside of regularly scheduled shifts.
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Be prepared to work on a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team during catastrophic events or disasters.

Qualifications

• Current BLS certification required.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a Medical-Surgical or Telemetry setting is required.
• Charge nurse experience is preferred.
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
• Must pass EKG testing prior to the start.

Work Details

• Shift: 12 hours from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM.
• Contracts available for 36 or 48 hours, with options for longer contracts ranging from 13 to 26 weeks.
• Every other weekend availability is required.
• Patient-to-nurse ratio is typically 1:5-6, not exceeding 6 patients.
• Attendance at daily classes and orientation during the first week is mandatory.
• All travelers and staff must comply with the hospital’s operational directives during emergencies.

Unit Information

• Experience with electronic systems, including Pyxis and Epic, is advantageous.
• Documentation and communication utilizing SBAR framework are required.
• 24-hour unit orientation will be provided to all new staff.

Uniform

Scrubs should be in navy color.
