CVOR Tech

Position Overview

The CVOR Tech is responsible for providing high-quality support in the operating room for cardiovascular and various other surgical procedures. This role requires proficiency in assisting surgical teams and ensuring a safe and sterile environment for all surgical activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist surgical teams during cardiovascular and general surgeries.
• Maintain a sterile environment in the operating room.
• Prepare surgical instruments and equipment for various procedures.
• Follow all safety and infection control protocols.
• Participate in calls as required, including weekend shifts and holidays.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a CVOR or surgical setting.
• National certification required: NBSTSA or TS-C (NCCT not accepted).
• BLS certification is mandatory.
• Experience in scrub roles is required.

Schedule and Call Requirements

• Shift: 4 x 10-hour days (05:30 – 16:00).
• On-call requirements: 2-3 calls per week, with at least 1 weekend per month.
• Off days will vary.

Additional Information

• Operating room with a total of 12 OR’s.
• Types of surgeries include general, neuro, and cardiovascular procedures for adults, adolescents, and geriatrics.
• Must adhere to a strict no-tobacco policy and complete nicotine testing.
• Garments for scrubbing will be provided.
• Charting system utilized: Cerner.
• Guaranteed hours: 40 per week.
