Telemetry Nurse

Job Description

The Telemetry Nurse is responsible for providing care to patients with critical or life-threatening conditions. The nurse monitors and interprets cardiac rhythms, assesses the patient’s hemodynamic status, and administers prescribed cardiac medications and telemetry-approved infusions. Additionally, the Telemetry Nurse must identify and assist patients experiencing shock or other life-threatening complications.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms
• Assess and manage patient hemodynamic statuses
• Administer prescribed medications and telemetry-approved drips
• Recognize and respond to life-threatening complications
• Assist with emergency and elective cardioversions
• Support the insertion of temporary pacemakers
• Interact effectively with patients across a variety of age groups, including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Collaborate on an interdisciplinary level for optimal patient care

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification

• Ability to monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
• Effective communication skills for patient and inter-disciplinary interaction
• Competence in managing multiple tasks and prioritizing patient needs
