Behavioral Health/Psych Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Behavioral Health Registered Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing compassionate care to adult patients in a behavioral health setting. This position requires the flexibility to work various shifts, including weekdays and weekends, on a 3×12 hour schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult patients facing various behavioral health challenges.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, implementing care plans as needed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient treatment and care outcomes.
• Participate in therapeutic activities and support patient engagement in their recovery process.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical records system.
• Adhere to safety and compliance protocols in all patient interactions.

Shift Details

• Schedule: 3×12 hour shifts, typically from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
• Must be available for rotation across weekdays and weekends.
• Limited requests for time off during major holidays; maximum of one holiday off per year.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a behavioral health or psychiatric nursing setting is required.
• Certifications in Basic Life Support (BCLS), Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), and First Aid are required; CPI and First Aid may be obtained during orientation.
• Experience with electronic medical records, specifically Avatar, is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and team members.

Additional Information

Travelers must complete fingerprint requirements at a designated location in West Virginia at least 7-10 business days prior to the start date. Results may take 5-7 days, and it is essential that candidates are cleared to start work without delay.
