Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and note-taking skills, and will be responsible for facilitating surgical procedures across various specialties.

Key Responsibilities

• Circulate surgical cases and prepare for surgery by pulling necessary instruments and supplies.
• Work from a preference card system to ensure all necessary items are available for procedures.
• Set up, clean, and turnover Operating Room (OR) rooms efficiently.
• Assist with various surgical specialties including general surgery, OB/GYN, urology, orthopedics, podiatry, ENT, cardiovascular, and bariatrics.

Unit Details

• Four (4) OR suites and one (1) procedure room.
• Eight (8) Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) bays and eighteen (18) patient center rooms.
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:1 in the OR, 1:1-4 in the Patient Center, and 2:1 in PACU.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the operating room setting.
• SD RN License required.
• Certifications in BLS and ACLS are required, with PALS preferred.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position requiring 8-hour shifts, with call rotation expected 1-2 days per week. Weekend and holiday rotations are part of the schedule.

Training and Orientation

Upon arrival, new hires will receive an initial departmental orientation to familiarize themselves with the layout and workflow. There will also be training on equipment and supplies used within the unit, ensuring a smooth integration into the team.

Additional Information

Floating to other departments may occur, including the peri-operative department such as Patient Center and PACU, as needed.
