Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality patient care in an acute care setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background and the ability to manage a diverse range of medical and surgical patient needs.

General Job Duties

• Caring for 5 to 6 patients requiring in-patient hospitalization for medical or surgical issues.

Equipment Utilized

• Pyxis medication station
• Meditech charting system
• Alaris IV pumps
• Remote telemetry system

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of acute care experience
• EKG competency

Licensures and Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)

Shift and Schedule Requirements

The RN must be willing to work every other weekend or at least one weekend shift per week, including Saturday and Sunday. The position operates with the support of at least one other nurse and a LNA/UC.

Floating Requirements

RNs are required to be flexible and may float to all Med/Surg remote telemetry units on the 2nd and 3rd floors. Occasional float to the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) may also be necessary, based on staffing needs.

Unit Information

• 2nd floor has four units:
  • 2E = 20 beds
  • 2S = 14 beds
  • 2C = 23 beds
  • 2N = 17 beds
• 3rd floor has three units:
  • CDU = 20 beds
  • 3N = 20 beds
  • 3S = 23 beds

Nurse to Patient Ratio

The nursing ratio is approximately 5 to 6 patients per nurse.

Dress Code

The required uniform color is navy blue.

Training and Orientation

New hires will complete 2 to 3 shifts of unit-specific orientation along with a mandatory 8 hours of hospital orientation on a designated Monday.
