Operating Room (OR) Nurse

Job Description

The Operating Room (OR) Nurse plays a critical role in the surgical setting, providing care and support to patients before, during, and after surgery. This position requires proficient technical skills and the ability to work in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are available.
• Assist surgeons and surgical teams during procedures by providing necessary instruments and maintaining a sterile environment.
• Monitor patients’ vital signs and overall conditions throughout the surgery and assist with post-operative care.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to plan and implement individualized patient care.
• Educate patients and their families on pre-operative and post-operative care as needed.
• Adhere to all safety and regulatory guidelines and protocols.

Qualifications

• Valid nursing license and BLS certification required.
• Previous experience in the Operating Room setting is required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Relevant advanced certifications preferred.

Schedule

This position offers a 40-hour work week structured around four 10-hour shifts.
