Registered Nurse, Emergency Department

The Emergency Nurse provides comprehensive care to patients experiencing urgent or critical illnesses, as well as those requiring emergency assistance and individuals seeking treatment for non-urgent issues. This role involves triaging patients based on their care needs, conducting ongoing assessments of their conditions, implementing immediate interventions, and providing discharge teaching.

The Emergency Department Nurse serves a diverse patient population, including prenatal, neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. The nurse must be adept at interacting appropriately with individuals based on their intellectual and physical capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide urgent and critical care to a diverse patient population.
• Triage patients according to care requirements.
• Conduct ongoing assessments and monitor patients’ conditions.
• Implement immediate nursing interventions based on patient needs.
• Provide discharge teaching and resources to patients and families.

Requirements

• Current Massachusetts RN license.
• BLS certification is required.
• ACLS certification is required.
• PALS certification is required.
• Mandatory CPI or MOAB certification.
• Availability to work every other weekend.
