Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our float pool, providing care across various units, including Medical Surgical, Cardiac Telemetry, Stroke Neuro, Step-Down ICU, and ICU. Candidates must possess ICU experience and be flexible to float to Medical Surgical units as necessary. Extensive cardiac experience is a requirement for this role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to care for patients.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments following approved nursing techniques, policies, procedures, standards of care, and State laws/practice act.
• Document care according to established standards.
• Develop, initiate, and execute individualized patient care plans as prescribed by the physician and hospital policy, including providing instruction to patients and families.
• Participate in department or unit performance improvement initiatives, including shared governance activities.
• Provide clinical expertise and guidance to support the patient’s long-term care plan across units and departments.
• Employ critical thinking regarding patient safety and experience, escalating issues through the appropriate chain of command when necessary.

Shift Information

Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM

Holiday Coverage Required: Yes

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.
• Current Illinois RN License.
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS/BCLS, and NIHSS.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; education verification is required.
