Pediatric Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Pediatric Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to pediatric and adolescent patients with complex medical needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care to pediatric patients with diagnoses such as traumatic brain injury (TBI), spinal cord injuries, gunshot wounds (GSW), motor vehicle accidents (MVA), burns, feeding disorders, failure to thrive, spina bifida, cerebral palsy (CP), and post-orthopedic surgical patients.
• Manage and monitor patients requiring tracheostomy and ventilator support.
• Coordinate and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, ensuring that patients receive extensive speech therapy (ST), physical therapy (PT), and occupational therapy (OT).
• Ensure compliance with all hospital policies and procedures while delivering patient care.
• Participate in patient and family education and support during their care journey.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Maryland.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with pediatric experience strongly preferred.
• Experience in trach and ventilator management is required.

Work Schedule

• Rotating shifts of 3×12 hours (Day/Night): 07:00-19:30 / 19:00-07:30.
• Required to work every other weekend and holidays as scheduled.

Additional Information

• Patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:4.
• Floating may be required within the specialty and to multiple locations as needed.
• Scrubs can be any color or pattern.
