Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)/Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for an outpatient clinic position. The successful candidate will possess strong triage abilities and have a background in outpatient clinic settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments and triage patients effectively.
• Administer medications, including intramuscular, subcutaneous, oral, and subcutaneous injections.
• Conduct phlebotomy and IV therapy as required.
• Insert Foley catheters for both male and female patients.
• Conduct clean catch urine instructions for patients and manage TURP patient care.
• Communicate patient status changes to registered nurses and physicians.
• Execute de-escalation protocols and handle follow-up phone calls.
• Interpret laboratory results and label specimens accurately.
• Perform medication reconciliation and manage patient health questionnaires/histories/allergies.
• Engage in pharmacy calls and patient refill requests.
• Monitor vital signs and assess patient pain levels.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of outpatient clinic experience required.
• Must possess current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Experience with genitourinary/renal procedures is required.
• Proficient in the use of face masks, nasal cannula, and oxygen administration.
• Strong communication skills and ability to handle the patient management process efficiently.
• Experience using EPIC electronic health records is required.

Job Details

• Total patient visits per day: 100.
• 26 patient rooms available.
• Shift: 8-hour days, Monday to Friday, from 08:00 to 17:00.
• Orientation: 40 hours of clinic orientation following hospital training.
• Scrubs: Navy blue, not provided.
• Float requirement: Yes, with a 1-week notice unless there is unexpected call-out or PTO.
• Weekend work is not required.
• Patient age group: Adults and geriatrics, with a focus on urology outpatient care.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in surgical oncology is a plus.
