Registered Nurse / IMC / IICU

Position Overview

The role involves providing high-quality nursing care for adult patients in the Intermediate Intensive Care Unit (IICU). The nurse will manage complex medical conditions and provide critical care interventions based on patient needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult patients, including trauma, medical, surgical, and neurology cases.
• Monitor patients closely, implementing interventions every 1–2 hours as required.
• Utilize advanced equipment such as patient re-positioners and ceiling lifts.
• Perform medication management including titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips.
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams, responding to emergencies and patient escalations.
• Maintain proficiency in cardiac monitoring, interpreting dysrhythmias, and telemetry monitoring.
• Document patient care using electronic health record systems, with required experience in EPIC.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in South Carolina or a valid multistate license.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 completed travel assignment.
• Previous experience in IICU or ICU settings is essential, with a minimum patient acuity ratio of 1:3.
• Critical care experience is required for first-time travelers.
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS.

Work Schedule

• Night shifts: 3×12 hour schedule (19:00 – 07:30).
• Mandatory weekend shifts: 6 shifts per 6-week schedule period.

Floating Requirements

Staff may be required to float to other units or campuses where competencies have been documented. Floating will be limited to areas where staff are qualified.

Additional Information

• The facility may call off staff one shift every two weeks.
• All scheduling requests must be submitted with the application and will only be accommodated if approved at booking.
