Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor and Delivery

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse with a focus on Labor and Delivery (L&D) to join our team. This position involves providing comprehensive nursing care to expectant mothers during labor and delivery, as well as postpartum care for mothers and their newborns.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care during labor and delivery, catering to both standard and high-risk patients.
• Provide postpartum care for mothers and their babies, ensuring safe and effective recovery.
• Administer care in GYN surgical post-operative cases.
• Monitor fetal health using advanced equipment and technology.
• Preparedness to float to the nursery and NICU as required.
• Utilize computerized documentation systems for accurate patient records.

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, and GYN nursing.
• Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NRP are required.
• Experience with fetal monitoring and electronic health records, specifically OBIX and EPIC.
• Willingness to work night shifts, rotating weekends, and holidays.
• Floating between different units, including the nursery and NICU, is expected.

Unit Information

• 19-bed labor and delivery unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1 or 1:2 for L&D and 1:3 for mom/baby couplets.
• Orientation program for new travelers includes 36 hours of training.

Dress Code

Navy blue scrubs are required. Hospital-provided scrubs may be available for L&D roles.

Candidates local to the area are not eligible for this role if they have a permanent address within an 80-mile radius.
