Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department

The Emergency Nurse is responsible for providing care to patients experiencing urgent or critical medical conditions, as well as those seeking non-urgent treatment. This role involves triaging patients based on their care requirements and conducting ongoing assessments of patient conditions. Immediate interventions and discharge teaching are essential components of the position.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients to determine priority of care.
• Provide ongoing evaluation and care for patients in the emergency department.
• Conduct immediate interventions for critical medical conditions.
• Deliver discharge education to patients and their families.
• Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Patient Populations

The Emergency Nurse will provide care for various patient demographics, including:

• Pre-natal
• Neonatal
• Pediatric
• Adolescent
• Adult
• Geriatric

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts RN License required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required.
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) or Managing Outstanding Behavior (MOAB) certification required.

Work Conditions

This position requires working every other weekend and night shifts.
