ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

We are currently seeking an experienced Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in medical/surgical nursing, with a focus on critical care. This position requires flexibility in scheduling, including nights and every other weekend, with options for 36 or 48 hours per week.

Unit Overview

Our ICU is a 20-bed Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit (MICU), providing care for a diverse range of adult patients. Common diagnoses include:

• Substance Abuse/Overdose
• Severe Psychiatric Conditions
• Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA)
• Sepsis
• Gastrointestinal Bleed
• Respiratory Failure
• Cardiac Arrest
• Renal Failure
• Cardiogenic Shock

Attending physicians and residents are present in the ICU 24 hours a day, ensuring comprehensive care for our patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry data; must be able to read tele strips.
• Comply with hospital policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Float to medical/surgical units when required, managing a patient ratio of 1:2 or 1:1 with high acuity, and up to 4 or 5 patients when floating.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of continuous experience in a Medical/Surgical ICU.
• Active registered nurse license in Massachusetts.
• Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
• Telemetry competency is required.

• Floating to medical/surgical units is required.
• Free on-site parking available.
• Charting system used: EPIC.
