Registered Nurse (RN)

Shift Details

This position involves working night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15, with a schedule of 3×12 hours per week. Weekend coverage is required every other weekend.

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse will provide care to adult and geriatric patients in a high-acuity med-surg unit, with a primary focus on stroke and TIA patients. The nurse will be responsible for maintaining a patient-centered approach while ensuring high-quality patient experiences.

Float Requirements

Floating to other units may be required based on staffing needs and the nurse’s skill set.

Staffing Ratios

• Nights: 1:6 patient ratio

• Adults
• Geriatrics

Medication Management

The medication system used is Omnicell.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of experience with EPIC
• No first-time travelers accepted

• Seizure
• Syncope
• Pneumonia (PNA)
• Chest Pain
• Dialysis
• Acute Kidney Failure
• Post Heart Catheterization
• Respiratory Failure
• Encephalopathy
• Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
• Sepsis

Special Procedures

This unit performs special procedures including peritoneal dialysis and continuous bladder irrigation.

Certifications Required

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Active RN license in Tennessee

Skills and Qualifications

• Must possess the necessary skills to handle the specified patient diagnoses and special procedures
• Strong focus on enhancing patient experiences
