ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team on the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU). This position involves working nights and every other weekend (EOW) for a total of 36 hours per week. Candidates must be willing to float to medical/surgical units as required.

Unit Information:

• 20-bed Medical/Surgical ICU
• Care provided for adult patients with a range of diagnoses, including Substance Abuse/Overdose, severe Psychiatric conditions, DKA, Sepsis, GI bleed, Respiratory Failure, Cardiac Arrest, Renal Failure, and Cardiogenic Shock.
• Continuous physician presence with attendings and residents available 24 hours a day.

Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill patients in the ICU setting.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry data accurately.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Float to medical/surgical units as necessary, managing patient loads of 4-5 patients in those units.

Qualifications:

• Active Massachusetts RN License
• 2+ years of continuous adult ICU experience required, with a preference for MICU experience.
• Required certifications: AHA BLS and ACLS.
• Competency in telemetry required.

Additional Information:

• RN to patient ratio: 1:2 or 1:1 with high acuity; 1:4 or 1:5 when floated to other medical/surgical areas.
• Experience with electronic medical record systems, specifically EPIC, preferred.
