Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

This is a FLOAT POOL POSITION, where the Registered Nurse will be required to float throughout various departments within the hospital, including the Emergency Department, ER hold, Medical Surgical, Telemetry, and Stepdown/PCU units.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients across multiple departments.
• Adapt to varying patient ratios, with potential ratios up to 1:6 in Med-Surg.
• Ensure effective communication and collaboration with team members to deliver comprehensive patient care.

Schedule Requirements

• Weekend work is expected every other week.
• No on-call duties required.
• Flexible scheduling is necessary due to the nature of pool staffing; no block schedule requests will be accommodated.

Experience and Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience is required.
• The unit is open to first-time travelers.

Holidays

Travelers are expected to work at least one major holiday that falls within their assignment period. If two major holidays occur, the expectation is to work both. For three major holidays, the traveler is obligated to work two. Major holidays include:

• Memorial Day
• Independence Day
• Labor Day
• Thanksgiving/Black Friday
• Christmas Eve/Christmas Day
• New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day

Compliance and Orientation

Full compliance with onboarding requirements is mandatory to start on time. Failure to be compliant within the specified timeframe may result in a two-week delay due to the bi-weekly orientation schedule. The number of non-billable orientation hours is based on the contract length.

Additional Information

Local candidates are accepted and will receive the same rate as travelers.
