Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join a dynamic float pool specializing in a range of medical-surgical units. This role will support 15 diverse units, including neurology, cardiac, bariatric, general medicine, general surgery, gynecology, gastroenterology, orthopedic, oncology, and transplant patient care.

Job Overview

The position requires flexibility as RNs will work various shifts, including 8 and 12-hour rotations, with a focus on day, evening, and night shifts. Travel RNs will be assigned to a unit for 2-3 weeks, with potential last-minute assignments. Every four-week schedule will involve one 12-hour shift paired with three 8-hour shifts, with rotation considerations made to provide adequate transition time between shifts. Every other weekend and holiday availability is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer nursing care to patients across multiple medical surgical units.
• Monitor patients within established ratios, typically 4:1 on days and 6:1 on nights.
• Perform specific unit procedures, including telemetry monitoring, administering nebulizers, and managing certain pharmaceutical infusions.
• Conduct essential assessments, such as 12-lead EKGs and blood transfusions.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Registered Nurse license.
• Minimum of 3 years of related nursing experience required.
• Prior travel nursing experience is essential.
• Certification in CPR (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) is necessary.
• Basic familiarity with computers and web-based applications is needed.
• Epic experience is required.
• Experience in a teaching hospital and specialty expertise preferred.
• Level I trauma experience is mandatory.

Orientation and Attire

Orientation is held weekly on Mondays, excluding holidays. The dress code allows for any color scrubs. Please note that parking expenses may apply for those working during the day, with options for public transportation also available.
