Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will provide direct patient care, assess patient health, and facilitate treatment plans in a fast-paced environment.

Required Skills and Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience
• Charge nursing experience preferred
• First-time travelers accepted

Job Details

• Shift: 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15
• Contract options: 36 or 48 hours per week; longer contracts of 13-26 weeks accepted
• Float as needed to various units
• Every other weekend availability required
• Patient-to-nurse ratio: 1:5-6
• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off (RTO) allowed during the contract

Contract Requirements

Contract staff will be expected to participate in a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team. They may be required to report to work during catastrophic events or disasters. Assignments may change mid-contract based on the needs of the organization.

Unit Information

The unit includes an isolation area for COVID-19 patients and offers multi-level care, including stepdown services managed by dedicated stepdown staff.

Orientation

A comprehensive 24-hour unit orientation will be provided. Travelers must also attend hospital orientation during the first week and be available for daily classes.

Additional Notes

• All contracted staff must pass EKG testing prior to starting.
• Local candidates will be accepted at a local rate.
