Adult Psych Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated and proficient Adult Psych Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to adult patients aged 18 to 65 who are experiencing a variety of mental health issues, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and borderline personality disorder. The unit also accommodates dual diagnosis patients undergoing detox while treating concurrent mental health challenges, as well as some medically acute cases requiring IV therapy, CPAP, wound care, and diabetic management.

Unit Description

• 30-bed unit dedicated to adult psychiatric care
• Patient population reflects diverse mental health needs

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and monitor psychotropic medications and understand their side effects
• Perform patient admissions and discharges efficiently
• Assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed
• Utilize an automatic medication dispensing system (Omni Cell)
• Provide care for patients requiring IV therapy and manage diabetic care

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of inpatient adult psychiatric experience required
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) License in Massachusetts
• Current AHA BLS certification

Working Conditions

• Clinician to patient ratio of 1 RN to 7 or 8 patients
• Rotating shifts required for day positions (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM, and 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Night shifts are available without rotation
• Floating to other units may be required
