Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN) to provide care across multiple Med/Surg Telemetry areas within the healthcare system. The ideal candidate must be willing to float to various units and have a strong background in telemetry monitoring and cardiac care.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care and support for patients across multiple Med/Surg Tele units.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, administer cardiac drips, and interpret telemetry strips.
• Assess patient conditions and communicate findings effectively to the healthcare team.
• Maintain accurate patient records using the EMR system (EPIC).
• Work collaboratively with healthcare providers to ensure high-quality patient care.

Experience Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of acute care hospital experience in a single location.
• 2 years of experience as a traveling nurse is preferred.

Skill Set Requirements

• Proficient in telemetry monitoring including measuring intervals and interpreting strips every 4 hours.
• Experience with TR Band and cardiac drips.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.

Work Environment

• Clinician to patient ratio: Days & Evenings up to 5:1; Nights up to 6:1.
• Caring for ED border patients, managing medication in the acute mental health unit, and overseeing non-vented patients in the ICU.
• Operating in units ranging from 8 to 41 beds within a facility that has a total bed count of 371.

Schedule

• Rotational shifts including Days, Evenings, and Nights.
• Encounter rotation of 1 to 3 nights per contract.

Certifications Required

• Active Massachusetts RN License.
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications.
