Sterile Processing Tech (SPT) Team Lead

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Sterile Processing Tech (SPT) Team Lead for a 13-week contract position with potential for extension. This role will involve working nights with the following shift schedule:

• Night Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Five shifts per week
• Rotating weekends

Responsibilities

The Sterile Processing Tech Team Lead will be responsible for overseeing the decontamination and sterilization processes for medical instruments and trays. Key responsibilities include:

• Supervising and training staff in sterilization techniques and safety protocols
• Ensuring compliance with quality control standards
• Managing workflow and inventory in the central sterile processing department
• Conducting regular inspections of sterilization equipment
• Collaborating with surgical services to ensure timely availability of sterile instruments

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in sterile processing, with Level 1 Trauma experience preferred
• Strong leadership skills and ability to manage a team effectively
• Knowledge of sterilization techniques and regulations
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
• Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician is a plus
