Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

Join a dynamic 25-bed unit specializing in diverse patient needs, including but not limited to stroke care, post-operative recovery, and comfort care. Our nursing team provides high-quality care with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 5:1 during the day and 5-6:1 at night, ensuring individual attention to patient needs.

Unit Information

• 11 private patient rooms
• 7 semi-private patient rooms
• Primary patient populations include stroke patients, post-operative patients (amputations, drains, chest tubes, feeding tubes), and comfort/hospice care patients.
• Management of heparin drips, wound care, altered mental status, CIWA patients, acute kidney injury (AKI), dialysis, and COPD exacerbations.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to a variety of patients including those with complex medical conditions.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and monitor patient responses.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Educate patients and families on health management and post-discharge care.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and nursing best practices.

Shift Information

This position requires three 12-hour shifts per week, with availability for night shifts, every other weekend, and every other holiday.

Qualifications

• Current Illinois Registered Nurse license
• Current CPR/BLS Certification
• ACLS Certification
• NIHSS Certification required
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience
