ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced ICU Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team in a Level III Trauma Center. This position requires the ability to float to medical and surgical units as needed and involves providing high-level care to critically ill patients.

Unit Summary

The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is a 20-bed facility that caters to a diverse adult patient population with a variety of medical issues, including but not limited to:

• Substance Abuse/Overdose
• Severe Psychiatric Conditions
• Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA)
• Sepsis
• Gastrointestinal Bleeding
• Respiratory Failure
• Cardiac Arrest
• Renal Failure
• Cardiogenic Shock

Attending physicians and residents are present in the ICU 24 hours a day to provide support and guidance to the nursing staff.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips to assess patient conditions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
• Float to medical and surgical units as required, caring for up to 4-5 patients at a time.
• Ensure effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of continuous ICU experience, preferably in a MICU.
• Active RN license in Massachusetts.
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• Telemetry competency is essential.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including days, evenings, and nights as needed.
