ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

The Registered Nurse delivers high-quality nursing care through the application of the nursing process. This role involves collaboration with other healthcare team members to uphold standards for professional nursing practice while complying with hospital policies and regulatory guidelines. The position is integral to directing, coordinating, and delegating activities that promote patient and family-centered care.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Assess the physical, psychosocial, and educational needs of the patient.
• Plan and implement nursing care based on patient and family needs.
• Make appropriate interventions tailored to individual patient needs.
• Evaluate patient responses to nursing interventions.
• Assume personal accountability for the quality of patient care, patient satisfaction, the environment, and professional development.

Work Schedule:

The position requires a commitment to working three 12-hour shifts per week, guaranteeing 36 hours of work. Additionally, every other weekend is required, with no on-call obligations.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in nursing.
• Completion of at least one travel assignment is required.
• Experience primarily in an ICU setting; floating to a CVICU is preferred.
• Active ACLS certification required, with a copy to be submitted as part of the application.
• A skills checklist must be completed within one year of application for nursing specialties.
• An active Michigan nursing license is required at the time of submission.

Attendance Policy:

Strict adherence to attendance is mandated, where any RN contractor absent from a scheduled shift or arriving more than 20 minutes late for their scheduled shift three times will be terminated immediately. Absences due to communicable diseases or hospitalizations, with supporting documentation, will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
