Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (RN)

The Registered Nurse delivers quality nursing care through the utilization of the nursing process. This position requires working collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team to uphold professional nursing practices and standards. The role focuses on patient and family-centered care, implementation of hospital policies, and adherence to regulatory guidelines.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Assess the physical, psychosocial, and educational needs of patients.
• Plan and implement nursing care according to the specific needs of patients and their families.
• Make appropriate interventions based on individual patient requirements.
• Evaluate patient responses to nursing interventions and modify care as necessary.
• Assume personal responsibility for the quality of patient care, patient satisfaction, and ongoing professional development.

Shift Notes:

This position offers a guaranteed 36 hours per week, with shifts scheduled as three 12-hour shifts. There are no 4/12 shifts available. Nurses are required to work every other weekend.

On Call Requirements:

No on-call requirements for this position.

Certification and License Requirements:

• Active Michigan nursing license is required.
• Current ACLS certification (American Heart Association) must be provided upon submission.
• BLS and NIHSS certifications are also required.

Experience Requirements:

• A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Registered Nurse is required.
• Completion of at least one travel assignment is required.
• ICU experience is primarily required, with a preference for candidates who can float to CVICU.

Important Attendance Policy:

An attendance policy will be implemented starting on 2/28/2024. Any RN contractor who is absent from a scheduled shift or arrives more than 20 minutes late three times will be terminated immediately. Exceptions may be made for documented cases of communicable disease or hospitalization.
