Registered Nurse (RN) – CVICU

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) on a travel contract basis. The position requires night shifts, providing critical care to patients recovering from cardiac procedures and surgeries.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the CVICU.
• Monitor patient vital signs and respond to changes in condition.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
• Educate patients and families regarding care plans, medications, and recovery processes.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with hospital policies.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
• NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certification.
• DCI/BVP certification preferred.
• Previous experience in CVICU or critical care nursing preferred.
• Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to make independent decisions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Work Schedule

This position requires three twelve-hour night shifts per week, with a commitment to supporting the needs of the CVICU team and patient population.
