Registered Nurse (RN)

Minimum Qualifications

• License Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts required.
• 1-3 years of related work experience preferred.
• Experience with computer systems required, including web-based applications and Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Access.
• Epic experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Collaborates with physicians and other healthcare providers to coordinate patient care from referral/consultation to discharge/follow-up.
• Assists with the pre-authorization process.
• Acts as a contact and facilitator for consults and patient information.
• Coordinates and ensures all patient scheduling, including consultations, diagnostic, and treatment procedures.
• Gathers information for patient history and physical evaluations.
• Performs and documents evaluations and assessments of patients.
• Assists in ordering labs, x-rays, and diagnostic procedures.
• Works collaboratively with surgeons and physicians to educate patients and their families regarding medical care.
• Assists in the development of patient/family educational materials.
• Participates in patient rounds and case conferences.
• Updates clinical knowledge and skills through consultation, education, and review of literature for personal and team growth.
• Provides leadership for process improvement related to patient care.
• Acts as a liaison and clinical expert to the Department of Quality & Safety regarding skin and wound-related serious reportable events.
• Leads quarterly pressure injury prevalence survey efforts.
• Maintains annual mandatory education requirements.
• Demonstrates a commitment to patients and colleagues.
• Reflects the goals of the organization in individual nursing practice.
• Demonstrates professional responsibility.
• Participates in educational opportunities for professional growth and license renewal.

Additional Information

Candidates must not have worked permanently, as a traveler, or in a PRN capacity for any facility within the past 6 months.
