CVICU Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled CVICU Registered Nurse to join our team for night shifts. The ideal candidate will bring two years of relevant experience, including immediate open heart post-operative care. Local candidates are welcome and will be considered at a reduced travel rate.

Contract Details

• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift/Hours: 3×12 Nights (19:00 – 07:30); potential for rotation to 11a – 11p based on unit needs
• Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend; additional shifts may be requested
• Holiday Requirement: Must be available as scheduled
• Floating Requirement: Required to float to MSICU as needed

Qualifications

• Licenses/Certifications: Maryland RN license, BLS, CPI, ACLS, and NIH required; OCN and TCNN preferred
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of CVICU experience and immediate open heart post-operative care

Unit Information

• Average Daily Census: 3-5 patients
• Beds on Unit: 6
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:2
• Common Patient Diagnoses:
  • Post-operative cardiac surgery (CABG, MVR, AVR)
  • Cardiac surgery re-admissions/ICU bounce-backs
  • Structural heart procedures (TAVR, mitral clips)
  • Pre-operative patients on hospital intensivist list
  • STEMI/NSTEMI
  • Cardiogenic shock
  • Inari Procedure
• Special Procedures: Management of complex patients requiring care such as inotropic medications, hemodynamic stability, open chest procedures, ECMO, CRRT, and IABP.
